Sean Strickland has left the Ontario Construction Secretariat (OCS) to become director of business development with Pomerleau.

Strickland was to start his new career today (April 24).

Strickland has led the organization jointly representing unions and employers within the organized labour sector.  Among other initiatives, OCS organizes an annual state of the Industry and Outlook Conference (held this year in Toronto in March). He has been with the OCS for eight years.

An OCS spokesperson said director of operations Christine Allenby “will be handling the day to day workings and the board will handle the rest.

“We don’t expect to have anyone in place for three to six months,” he said.

“Sean certainly brought the secretariat’s profile to a new level,” David Frame, director of government relations for the Ontario General Contractors Association, was quoted as saying in a published report.

“He knows the industry well and is a natural promoter. Pomerleau is fortunate to have him on board.”
