Here’s a listing of the top 10 women in construction associated with the Stratford and Area Builders’ Association (SABA). We’ve selected the women for this list based on their contributions to the  association and community.

It’s challenging enough to select the Top 10 – but we are not going to try to rank them in any hierarchy. Accordingly, the list here is alphabetical.

Caroline Baker – GSP Group

Caroline Baker is a senior planner with the GSP Group and also serves as a SABA director. She is a LEED

Green Associate. Her work profile says she “leads multi-disciplinary teams through the land use approvals process, including official plan site amendments, consents, plans of subdivision, zoning by-law amendments, site plan control approval and plans of condominium.”

Sandy Bennewies — Moffatt and Powell Rona

Sandy Bennewies manages the Mitchell branch of the family-owned building supply dealership, supporting contractor relationships as well as community service initiatives.

Ashley Barnier – Reuter Roofing

Ashley Barnier is Reuter Roofing’s Stratford office manager. Since joining the company in 2017, she has grown the company from two employees to 15 – with additional crews during peak times. She has responsibility for project management, sales, staffing and other tasks. See story page .

Cathy Bieman – Creative Casuals Cathy Bieman co-ordinates sales and marketing for Creative Casuals, providing promotional wearables. Her LinkedIn profile also reveals that she is project co-ordinator for The Taste of Huron.

Heather Galloway – Simply Divine Designs

Heather Galloway and her business partner have built their design business from scratch to a thriving organization handling six to 10 projects each month. She has engaged with SABA, serving as a director and coordinating the annual industry luncheon each fall.

Amy Mullock – Scotiabank

Amy Mullock is a small business advisor at Scotiabank in Stratford. She also is a SABA member.

Carol Roth – Sutton Group First Choice Realty Ltd.

Realtor Carol Roth has an extensive leadership background with SABA (including as its president) as she rose through the ranks from working as lumber store cashier to senior management. She has been a Realtor for six years.

Courtney Teahen – Teahen Construction Ltd. and Design Group

Courtney Teahen, also a SABA board member, is a founding partner of the Renomark-recognized contractor, overseeing residential and commercial renovations and custom homes, from design through completion. Teahen Construction has been in business since 1994. She is a SABA past-president.

Lee Wylie – Construction Workplace Safety Training

Lee Wylie is this successful safety training organization’s office manager, overseeing extensive responsibilities in scheduling trainers and courses and overseeing the training facility’s daily operations.

Montana Wilson – MTE Consultants

This professional engineer is responsible for the overall management of staff and financial accountability of MTE’s Civil and Geotechnical Engineering Stratford division. She also serves on the SABA board.
