STAFF WRITER – The Ontario Construction Report Special Feature Reimar Forming and Construction has successfully completed many complex and challenging projects in the Golden Horse- shoe and Greater Toronto areas since the company started business 10 years ago. The company, founded by experienced journeymen carpenters Mike Martins and Carlos Reis, focuses on the industrial, com- mercial and institutional (ICI) sectors. It handles projects requiring high-level car- pentry and cement finishing skills, with ex- posed finishes and less repetitive work than more conventional projects. Operations director Sean Martin says the company's approximately 90 employees have been selected for their ability to de- liver on projects requiring higher-than-usual capabilities. Notable projects include the $6.5 million McMaster Engineering Building built in 2009 and the McMaster Health Campus Building, where Reimar completed both ex- cavation and concrete forming. The 195,000 sq. ft. Health Complex, an $84.6 million project, required excavation of more than 15,000 cu. m. of soil, and in- cluded more than 8,700 cu. m. of poured concrete and upwards of 800 tons of rebar. The company is currently working on the PamAm Soccer Stadium, officially named Tim Horton’s field.
