Canadian Solar will build four utility-scale solar power plants in Ontario.
The company recently signed a deal to sell these solar plants, totaling 40 megawatt (MW), to DIF. The deal is subject to customary closing conditions, reports Zacks.com.
The projects include BeamLight in Georgina; Gold Light in Pefferlaw; Illumination in Scugog; and Glenarmin Kawartha Lakes.
Construction is expected to begin in 2013,with commercial startup is slated for 2014.
Canadian Solar will offer construction, procurement and turnkey engineering capabilities. It will also offer operations and maintenance services after project completion.
The solar plants will be installed with roughly 190,000 Canadian Solar CS6X high-performance modules, which have been through rigorous formal inspections and testing and are internationally certified.The solar plants will adequately power around 7,000 homes.
