Ontario approves building 4 new schools in Toronto

    Four new schools will be built and eight will be renovated in the City of Toronto.

    The province approved the building of four new schools and the renovation of eight schools to provide students with modern and improved places to learn while creating local construction jobs, according to a statement.

    New schools will be built for: St. Margaret Catholic School; St. Fidelis Catholic School; George Webster Elementary School; and Avondale Public School.

    Renovations will be made to: St. Malachy Catholic School; St. Paschal Baylon Catholic School; St. Ursula Catholic School; St. Victor Catholic School; St. Eugene Catholic School; Sprucecourt Public School; Chief Dan George Public School; Bloor Collegiate Institute/Brockton High School.

    “We are continuing our investments in new school buildings and renovations to provide our children with better places to learn. These modern and improved spaces will allow students to focus on their learning in school and beyond,” stated Minister of Education Liz Sandals.
