{"id":2265,"date":"2014-10-16T01:57:18","date_gmt":"2014-10-16T05:57:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ontarioconstructionreport.com\/?p=2265"},"modified":"2014-10-16T01:57:18","modified_gmt":"2014-10-16T05:57:18","slug":"gvca-safety-group-information-sessions-scheduled","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ontarioconstructionreport.com\/gvca-safety-group-information-sessions-scheduled\/","title":{"rendered":"GVCA safety group information sessions scheduled"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gvca.org\/\"><strong>The Grand Valley Construction Association (GVCA)<\/strong><\/a><\/span> has issued an announcement urging members to join the GVCA Safety Group.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;WSIB has issued a list of firms that are at risk,&#8221; the association said in an announcement. &#8220;If they know about you, then it is just a matter of time before you get a visit from them. By joining the GVCA Safety Group, you not only develop a management system for your health and safety program, you also demonstrate to the WSIB that you are committed to the health and safety of your employees.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The announcement says the GVCA has been a certified WSIB safety group sponsor for seven years. &#8220;In 2012 (based on 2013 audits), GVCA was the highest scoring group in Ontario with a score of 5.99 per cent out of a possible six per cent This resulted in a total rebate of $589,948 shared among 61 members.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The safety group can provide members with rebates of up to six per cent of their WSIB premiums (a minimum $3,000 rebate), the association said. These incentives are &#8220;over and above any rebates or surcharges earned through the WSIB experience rating programs.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Free information\u00a0sessions have been scheduled at the GVCA office, 25 Sheldon Dr., Cambridge, on Monday, oct. 20 from 5 to 6 p.m. and on Tuesday Nov. 25 from 3 to 4 p.m. or 5 to 6 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">In London, the meeting will occur at the London Chamber\u00a0of Commerce boardroom, 244 Pall Mall St. #101, on Wednesday, Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. to noon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p7\">Please e-mail <a href=\"mailto:admin@gvca.org\"><span class=\"s1\">admin@gvca.org<\/span><\/a> to register for a session.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Grand Valley Construction Association (GVCA) has issued an announcement urging members to join the GVCA Safety Group. &#8220;WSIB has issued a list of firms that are at risk,&#8221; the association said in an announcement. &#8220;If they know about you, then it is just a matter of time before you get a visit from them.
