The overall $60 million in funding will support the project designed by <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kpmb.com\/\"><strong>KPMB Architects<\/strong><\/a><\/span> and <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/gbca.ca\/\"><strong>GBCA Architecture<\/strong><\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.turnerandtownsend.com\/en\/locations\/north-america\/canada\/\"><strong>Turner &amp; Townsend (cm2r)<\/strong><\/a><\/span> is the project manager for the work, the second phase of the overall project. <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.databid.com\"><strong>Databid.com<\/strong><\/a><\/span> reports that tendering is under-way and says &#8220;please contact the project manager . . . for specific tender packages and due dates.&#8221;<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The provincial and federal governments are each making matching $30 million contributions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur government\u2019s investment will enable the historic Massey Hall to continue promoting the arts and inspiring future generations of Canadian artists,\u201d said <strong>James\u00a0Maloney<\/strong>, Member of Parliament for Etobicoke-Lakeshore, on behalf of the federal Minister of Infrastructure and Communities. \u201cCultural spaces like Massey Hall celebrate diversity, support vibrant and inclusive communities, and create more jobs.\u201d\u200b<\/p>\n<p>Among other renovations to the main hall, crews will install a retractable seating system and restore about 100 of the exterior\u2019s original stained glass windows.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Deane Cameron<\/strong>, president and CEO of <strong>Massey &amp; Roy Thomson Hall<\/strong>, said the project will create jobs for about 1,800 tradespeople.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The federal and Ontario governments have announced funding to continue the renovation and expansion of Toronto\u2019s Massey Hall.
