Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Oak Valley Health have prequalified five companies for the Oak Valley Health – Uxbridge Redevelopment Project.
The prequalified companies are:
- EBC Inc.
- EllisDon Corporation
- Maystar General Contractors Inc.
- Multiplex Construction Canada Limited
- Pomerleau Inc.
Teams were prequalified based on criteria identified in a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) process that began in December 2025. Selection criteria included required construction experience applicable to this project, as well as the financial capacity to deliver a project of this size and complexity.
A Request for Proposals (RFP) is expected to be issued this summer.
Once submissions are received, IO and Oak Valley Health will evaluate the proposals, select a preferred company and negotiate a final contract. The successful company is expected to be announced in spring 2027. A fairness monitor will oversee the entire procurement process.
Work will transform, modernize, and expand Oak Valley Health – Uxbridge. At about 140,000 square-feet, the new Uxbridge Hospital site will add more patient beds and expand key services such as ambulatory care and diagnostic imaging.
Originally opened in 1959, Uxbridge Hospital is currently a 20-bed community hospital offering diagnostic and emergency services to people living in the community. In 2004, the Markham Stouffville Hospital welcomed the Uxbridge Hospital as a partner site to offer care to the extended community. This has helped ensure the best care for people living in Uxbridge and surrounding areas.
The roject is being delivered using a Design-Bid-Build (DBB) model. Key features of a DBB model include increased owner control over the project design, as well as a high level of flexibility to respond to changing conditions and concerns.
