The Buildings Show Dec. 2 to 4 will bring together Construct Canada, PM Expo, HomeBuilder  and Renovator Expo, the World of Concrete Pavilion, and IIDEXCanada at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

Show organizers say the event is “the largest North American meeting place for the entire industry to source the latest tools, products and solutions from exhibits, features and demonstrations provided by 1,600 Canadian and International exhibitors.

“New to The Buildings Show is the Innovation Demo Centre,” a show news release says. “Attendees have the opportunity to watch 30 minute demonstrations on leading edge technological solutions, state-of-the-art products and modern green practices on the show floor.”

This year the International Architecture Roundtable, led by moderator Elsa Lam, Editor of Canadian Architect, examines the current and future state of concrete and how it’s transforming design. Panelists include: Brandon Clifford, principal of Matter Design; Filippo Gabbiani, co-founder of Kokaistudios; Ronald Rael, CEO and co-founder of Emerging Objects, and Bing Thom, principal of Bing Tom Architects.

Attendees will also be able to choose from more than 350 seminars, panels and roundtables that address a spectrum of contemporary issues that are having a direct impact on the state of the built environment. With changes to the Ontario Building Code, and construction standards, this year’s seminar program will focus on the processes, technologies and research that support innovative and sustainable design, cost and energy efficiencies, and high performance buildings:

    Featured sessions this year include:

    • An Update on Part 9 of the 2015 National Building Code: What Do You Need To Know?
