Consulting Engineers of Ontario (CEO) has announced its call for entries for the Ontario Consulting Engineering Awards (OCEA), with “notice of intention to submission” open until Nov. 10, with the final entry submission deadline set for Dec. 10.
Projects entered must have been completed from Jan. 1, 2016 to Sept. 30, 2017. CEO member firms may submit projects that involve other CEO member firms or non-CEO member firms. Joint submissions involving non-CEO members are acceptable only if the CEO member firm(s) did more than 50 per cent of the work and submit in their name.
The program presents a variety of categories for engineers to showcase their achievements. Four Awards of Excellence will be given according to the firm sizes. Categories include firms with 1 to 50 employees, 51 to 100 employees, 101 to 350 employees and more than 351 employees.
CEO will also present the Awards of Merit in six categories: Building Engineering and Science; Environment; Industry, Energy and Resources; Project Management; Studies and Research; and Transportation.
The winners will be announced at a gala event in April 2018 and featured in the 2018 Plus Delta Magazine, which is distributed across Ontario to an extensive of stakeholders including the provincial government and municipalities, government agencies and owners.
