Construction Workplace Safety Training Ltd. (CWST) has been recognized with the award for Most Outstanding Professional Service in this year’s Stratford and Area Builders’ Association (SABA) Awards of Distinction.

The award, which recognizes an outstanding service provider that offers new and innovative products or services is judged based on quality, customer service, technical competence and customer satisfaction.

Throughout the year, CWST held several information seminars for members at no charge. The company also represents SABA through its work in high schools. “We participated in the annual health and safety day showing the students examples of “working at heights” using a manlift. We have also been able to train students getting into the industry at the schools,” says CWST owner Bruce Bolduc.

CWST has been a member of SABA for three years and the Ontario Home Builders’ Association (OHBA) for 24. This membership, he says, is what allows companies to access the resources they need and may not be able to afford on their own. “Also, we bring a loud voice to the various ministries, and we’re heard. A small company may not have that opportunity on their own.”

CWST’s trained professionals come from various industries including residential construction, industrial/commercial construction, heavy civil, municipal and many others. When trainers are instructing or advising on safety, he says, it’s with a strong background in that specific industry.

Bolduc says his company offers clients, not only what is some of the best training and safety consulting, but also convenience and flexibility. “We have an office locally, but can bring the class right to a client’s location and that is a service not many trainers are willing to do. We also back up our clients with free advice. If they have a problem, they can call and we will endeavour to get a real answer for them quickly.”

Bolduc says he is honoured to have been recognized with this award. “We take great pride in being a member, and being able to bring firsthand knowledge of health and safety rules and changing legislation to the organization.”
