The City of Ottawa has reported $296.1 million in building permits in November, 2018, an increase of slightly more than 20 per cent from the same month in 2017, when the recorded permits totalled $245.6 million.
Year-to-date (end of November), the overall building permit volume has surged by $491.7 million, or by about 12 per cent to $2,830.9 million from $2,339.2 million last year.

Significant projects include:
121 Parkdale Ave. – Brigil Construction – $40,987,267
The largest permit in the month went for a new 33 storey apartment building with six parking levels. The development has been under construction for several months. When it is completed it will have more than 245,000 sq. ft. of accommodations.
5225 Boundary Rd. – Broccolini Construction – $38,080,302
This permit is for the massive 1.02 million sq. ft. Amazon warehouse project.
60 Moodie Dr. – EllisDon – $22,159,600
This permit is for “interior alterations to a three story office building” and is part of the work in converting the former Nortel campus into the new Department of National Defence Headquarters
8600 Campeau Dr. – $11,556,700
This permit is to construct a four storey hotel for Wyndham Hotels. The development application says the plans are for 121 units on the North Kanata site.
