The Ontario General Contractors Association (OGCA) recently presented awards to two individuals who have made substantial contributions to the industry.
The awards were presented at the association’s annual general meeting and conference in October.
Glenn Ackerley, chair of Wier Foulds LLP’s construction practice group, received the Jock Tindale Memorial Award. This recognition, created in 1998, honours an individual in the industry who has demonstrated a high standard of ethics and integrity in working with industry participants.
Ackerley is a past chair of the Toronto Construction Association. He has worked on many committees and boards and was a member of the expert panel’s advisory group on changes to Ontario’s Construction Lien Act.
The OGCA also recognized Paul Raboud with a Lifetime Achievement Award, for only the second time in its history. He had served on the OGCA’s board for 16 years, having spent his career at Bird Construction Inc., where he retired as vice chair in 2017, having served as a director there since 2008.
