Effiage Innovative Canada Inc., based in Burlington, is suing the New Brunswick provincial government for $13 million after losing out on a pair of bridge-repair contracts, even though it says it was the lowest bidder, according to a published report.

The contractor says its bid to repair the Centennial Bridge in Miramichi was more than $3 million lower than the winning bid, and that it offered to repair the Tobique River Bridge for $400,000 less than the company awarded the contract.

New Brunswick`s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure has declined comment as the matter is before the courts.

No trial date has been set and the government still hasn’t submitted its statement of defence.
