Infrastructure Ontario (IO) and Metrolinx have issued two request for qualifications (RFQ) for interested parties to design, build and finance two of the stations and off-corridor projects.

The stations and off-corridor program includes three projects: New RER Stations, New Smart Track Stations and Existing Station Rehabilitation. These projects are part of the province’s GO RER program, which is designed to provide faster and more frequent service on the GO Transit Rail network with electrification on core segments, including the Union Pearson Express.

The scope of work includes:

– New station buildings or pavilions

– Trackbed and grading

– Platforms

– New parking

– Pedestrian access (tunnel or overpass)

– Public realm improvements

The RFQs were issued on March 29. Both IO and Metrolinx will evaluate submissions to prequalify project teams with the relevant design, construction experience and financial capacity to undertake projects of this size and complexity. Teams that qualify will be invited to respond to a request for proposals in winter 2018/2019.

Interested companies must register with www.merx.com to download the RFQ.
