Tridel has received Tarion’s 2018 Earnest Assaly Award, granted once in a lifetime to “an Ontario builder who demonstrates a commitment to building quality and innovation, customer service and community involvement.”
Tarion, which administers the Ontario New Home Warranties Plan Act, presented that award, and its annual Homeowners’ Choice Awards, on May 1 “to outstanding builders who received the highest ratings from home buyers across the province.”These are the only awards that focus solely on customer service and are based on feedback from homeowners.
The 2018 Homeowners’ Choice Awards recipients are:
- Kolody Homes – Small Volume Category
- Talos Custom Homes Ltd. – Medium Volume Category
- Hayhoe Homes – Large Volume Category
- Plazacorp Investments – High-Rise Category
“A new home is one of life’s biggest investments and that’s why it’s important to have it built by someone you can trust who understands your needs,” says Tarion president and CEO Howard Bogach. “The builders recognized by these awards have demonstrated exemplary customer service to their homeowners and by doing set an example for others to follow. I’m pleased to congratulate all the recipients for helping to raise the bar for the new home building industry.”
The Homeowners’ Choice Awards are presented annually based on the results of surveys completed by new home buyers from across the province. In 2017, Tarion polled more than 56,900 new home buyers asking them about their builder’s performance before, during and after they moved into their new home. More than 11,500 homeowners responded, choosing recipients for outstanding customer service in the four categories. Award recipients were announced at a luncheon in Vaughan on May 1.
The Ernest Assaly Award recognizes the highest level of excellence in Ontario home building while honouring the legacy of Ernest Assaly, a highly respected leader in the residential building industry who was Tarion’s first Chair. Only a select number of Ontario builders met the rigorous criteria required to even receive an invitation to make a submission. The recipient of the new Ernest Assaly Award is determined by Tarion’s Board of Directors.
“For more than 40 years, Tarion has been working with builders and homeowners to build confidence in the home building industry,” says Bogach. “Our experience is that builders who go the extra mile create a positive home-buying experience that leads to happy, satisfied home owners, and we’re thrilled to recognize the recipients of this year’s awards.”
