Founded in 2005, Orillia based ORA Kitchens Inc. began supplying kitchens and bathroom vanities to local builders and the general public. In 2009 the company became ORA Kitchens and Bath Inc. under new ownership, adding several seasoned kitchen industry professionals.

Since that time, the company has grown in its capacity and scope and now provides full service from concept and design through delivery, installation and service. ORA has recently upgraded its manufacturing equipment and facilities as well as re-fining its internal processes in order to deliver a high-quality product efficiently and ensure greater customer satisfaction.

Darrin Graham, ORA’s director of operations, says much of the past year has been about upgrading processes, procedures and equipment in order to fulfill the company’s goal of complete customer satisfaction.

“Our pride has always been in our commitment to our customer, in look- ing at each customer and offering a unique solution to meet their needs. Our investment over the past year will help us in all aspects of ensuring that goal is met,” he says.

The company’s in-house staff of 25 includes five designers. Working with several high-quality subcontractors for installation, along with in- house installers and service technicians, ensure, a quality finished product. Graham says the process begins with the client, and discussions with a designer to assess their needs and desires, coupled with the practicalities of space and budget. “We then provide CAD generated elevations and perspective views which allow the customer to easily visualize the final design.”

In ORA’s showroom customers are guided with style, colour and accessory selections, including the choice of oak, maple, cherry, alder, or other specialty woods as well as MDF (medium-density fibreboard). “We also offer a variety of styles and colours in thermofoil or PVC ranging from wood look alike to high-end textured contemporary offerings including stainless steel doors.”

Counter top samples in laminate, quartz, granite and marble are available from a variety of suppliers and fabricators.

Detailed in-home measurements taken prior to production in ORA’s 28,000 sq. ft. factory, coupled with state-of-the-art equipment, precision crafting and quality control check points along the way, ensure a perfect fit.

ORA’s skilled subcontractor in- stallers then install the cabinetry and custom fit all of the mouldings and millwork on site. “Solid surface counter tops are laser templated by the chosen fabricator and produced and installed to fit perfectly over the cabinetry and tightly to the wall.”

Graham says the culture at ORA, extending to subcontractors, is one of a small group of people working closely together to produce a quality

product for customers. “While we are a growing company, we still hold the small company mentality and pride in workmanship,” he said.

ORA is a member of the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA), Canadian Kitchen Cabinet Association (CKCA), Orillia & District Construction Association and the Orillia District Chamber of Commerce.
