Next month, the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) will be moving its Philosophy department to a new building designed by architects Perkins + Will.
The North Building Phase B is a 210,000-square-foot, six-story addition to the existing building on the university’s campus. The Philosophy department will share the space with the departments of English and drama, historical studies, language studies, and political science and sociology, according to Construction Canada.
The new building was also certified Gold by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating program. It features glazed metallic terra cotta walls in earthy tones and bridge structures connecting to Deerfield Hall.
