Happy New Year from my family and the staff of the Construction News and Report Group for a great 2024. I hope that you, your family, co-workers and friends are all well and are taking time to reflect on what you are all thankful for.
Three years ago, at this time I was living at Ronald McDonald House in Hamilton with my wife while our new born daughter was in the NICU McMaster Children’s Hospital and would there remain until mid-April before we would all get home. From her first three months on CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) to help with chronic lung infection, she needed support coming home with a G-Tube for formula feeding by pump that remained until it was removed in September of 2021. She has been a warrior since day one and been working hard with physio therapy since her Cerebral Palsy diagnosis in early 2022.
I am thankful for some great clients who were flexible in meeting times and calls to work around my afternoon shift spent at the hospital with my daughter daily. And I’m thankful for a great team at work who offered support. Now looking ahead for 2024, I am hoping to reconnect more at live events with Aubrey starting junior kindergarten in the Fall.
