Robert Bronk has become the Ontario Construction Secretariat’s (OCS) new chief executive officer today (Oct. 2), replacing the previous CEO Sean Strickland, who left the organization in April to become Pomerleau’s director of business development and industry relations.
Joe Keys, president of the OCS board of directors, made the announcement at the organization’s annual general meeting on Aug. 30. Bronk took the helm at the OCS after leaving his previous job as executive director of the Ontario Industrial and Finishing Skills Centre.
New appointments/reappointments to the OCS board include:
Labour: John Grimshaw, IBEW Council of Ontario and Joe Redshaw, International Union of Operating Engineers; and management: Joe Keyes, Construction Labour Relations Association of Ontario; Jim Lyons, Windsor Construction Labour Relations Group; and Brendon Pageau, Mechanical Contractors Association of Ontario.
The OCS was formed in 1993 to represent the collective interests of the unionized construction industry in Ontario’s industrial, commercial and institutional (ICI) construction sector. As a joint labour-management organization, the organization says it is dedicated to enhancing Ontario’s unionized ICI construction industry by developing relationships, facilitating dialogue and providing value-added research.
