Tarion Warranty Corporation announced April 23 the recipients of the 2013 Tarion Awards of Excellence, the only awards in Ontario that recognize new home builders based solely on their customer service delivery.
Awards were presented to:
- Tridel, Toronto – High-Rise Category
- Fusion Homes, Guelph – Large Volume Category
- Klemencic Homes, Trenton – Medium Volume Category
- Parry Homes Inc., London – Small Volume Category
“Happy, satisfied homeowners are the best indicator of good customer service,” said Howard Bogach, Tarion’s president and CEO. “Tarion Award of Excellence winners are decided by homeowner feedback and recognize builders who go the extra mile to put their purchasers first. We congratulate the winners and all finalists for being leaders in customer service excellence.”
The awards are based on the results of a comprehensive survey among more than 40,000 Ontario homeowners who took possession of a new home between Oct. 1, 2011 and Sept. 30, 2012. More than 6,800 survey responses were received, representing 17 per cent of consumers who bought a new home in Ontario during that time. The results were tabulated by Crunch Research in partnership with Harris Decima.
Survey questions covered every stage of the homeowner-builder relationship beginning with the signing of the agreement of purchase and sale, through construction, pre-delivery inspection, and after-sales service.
Tracy MacCharles, Ontario’s Minister of Consumer Services, was on hand at the award presentations to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments in customer service. “I am pleased to recognize home builders who provide exceptional service to their buyers,” MacCharles said. “I offer my congratulations to the 2013 Tarion Awards of Excellence recipients for so capably representing Ontario’s building industry.”
