The City of Toronto has unveiled its construction season to-do list, outlining more than $720 million in projects designed to improve the city’s aging infrastructure, The Toronto Star has reported.
According to the city, $360 million will be allocated to roads, expressways, and bridges; $299 million on sewers and water mains; and $61.2 million on basement flooding protection.
Major projects include: The replacement of the TTC track at the Gerrard St. E. and Parliament St. intersection; A major reconfiguration of the Bloor St. W.-Dundas St. W.-Kipling Ave. area; Replacing the water main on Jarvis St. from Dundas St. E. to Queen St. E.; Changing the water main on Dundas St. W. from Bay St. to Spadina Ave.; and Rehabilitating the Gardiner Expressway from Jarvis to Cherry Sts.
Construction will continue throughout the summer months, with some starting later in the year.
