As the industry continues to change the Ontario General Contractors Association (OGCA) recognizes the vital role training and education will play to assist members in adapting to this new world.

Besides the extensive Gold Seal courses and webinars OGCA is currently offering, we have has been awarded National and International contracts focusing on leadership development, organizational culture, developing local and global leaders and enabling high performance.

Achieveblue has accomplished these goals through expert knowledge in creating a constructive culture and their tireless effort to partner with organizations that strive to be the best within their industry. We are very excited to bring the Achieveblue Lead to Succeed program to OGCA.

To address the huge interest in Lean, OGCA has partnered with Leading Edge Group, a recognized international provider of Lean training. These workshops will help to educate and involve all participants in their organizations efforts to improve process efficiency and eliminate waste.

OGCA president Clive Thurston said the association plans to do a trial run of the white and yellow belt programs first, and then expand the offering across the Province. “We are excited about this partnership and spent a great deal of time and effort in vetting the Leading Edge Group as a provider,” Thurston says. “We are confident they are one of the very best on this topic and now OGCA members and our partners will have access to this exciting training.”

Thurston further indicated that the OGCA would be talking to all of its partners and to local construction associations on ways to make this available to everyone across the province.

OGCA is in talks with another provider to provide top line training in major human resources areas covering loss prevention, workplace violence and intimidation, investigative interviewing, corporate risk management, substance abuse, and many other specific investigative education and training programs delivered by professional educators who are former police and security experts.

The OGCA recognized some time ago that to provide value to our members we need to be ahead of the changes that are happening and make sure we have access to the best education and training available to keep our members up to date and competitive.
