Origin Lofts in Markham definitely presents a different type of condo living and people are embracing the uniqueness.
The new mid-rise condominium project by Nascent Developments and the Sher Corporation fills a specific niche in the Markham housing market.
The geometric architecture of the buildings by Raw Design incorporate colour blocking in white, orange and wood tones, with live moss accents, green roofs and retail at street level. One eight-storey, mid-rise building is joined by a series of three five-storey lofthouse buildings, all surrounding a communal courtyard at the McCowan Road and Bur Oak Avenue site, according to The National Post.
The two- and three-storey stacked units range from 1,034 to 1,900 square feet, and feature two- and three-bedroom layouts — some with family rooms and flex spaces. The developer says the way they’re designed makes them ideal for multiple generations of a single family living together.
Units range from 635 to 1,038 square feet. The eight-storey, mid-rise building has layouts ideal for investors and young professionals too. Units in all four buildings range from $499,900 to about $1.6 million.
