Ontario Road Builders’ Association (ORBA) has announced the courses for its 2015 Road Building Academy. Taking place Feb. 23-27 at Georgian College in Barrie, the Academy features 18 exclusive, Gold Seal accredited courses in the subject areas of Leadership, Business Management and Technical, the association said in a news release.
The custom courses have been designed to provide staff, across all departments, with practical concepts, tangible solutions and enhanced skills. The 10 new sessions include “Advanced” courses in Construction Law and Contacts, Practical Environmental Training and Microsoft Project Management along with Fleet Management, Construction Disputes and Claims and How to Collect Money in the Construction Industry.
“With the exceptional breadth, there are outstanding courses for our staff across all business units”, said Capital Paving president Geoffrey Stephens. “Professional development is so important to a business and these exclusive courses offer relevant, practical training”, said John Blake, general manager, Norjohn Contracting and Paving.
Each Academy course presents current content and is delivered by professional educators and industry experts. Hosted in a professional learning environment, the interactive teaching creates an excellent forum for discussion and knowledge exchange with industry peers.
