Ontario Construction Report special feature
Waterloo Region’s best-kept secret for more than 65 years, Strassburger Windows and Doors continues to provide a full range of innovative products to serve the new construction, renovation, light commercial, institutional and replacement window markets.
Marketing consultant Richard Mori says Strassburger aims to be a one-stop for contractors with window and door options to suit every need. “We stand out from other window and door manufacturers in our product offering, our commitment to service and in the quality craftsmanship we take pride in.”
Strassburger has aligned itself with some of the fenestration industry’s leading parts suppliers. The company uses the unique PH Tech vinyl extrusion system to provide engineered design for all of its windows and doors. Mori says Strassburger uses this technology throughout all manufacturing, allowing it to integrate features such as windows combined with doors or patio doors into one structural system.
Strassburerg also offers a unique product, DoubleNature, a pre-stressed vinyl door and window option that allows for staining of both the inside and outside faces, in one of six distinct uv-resistant stains, for the look of wood inside and out.
“Another unique offering is our Craftsman line which offers our patented vinyl on the outside married to real wood inside.”
Mori says this series provides homeowners with a maintenance-free exterior vinyl with the warmth of wood on the inside. The Craftsman selection offers options so people can choose which rooms are wood inside and which rooms – a bathroom for instance – require vinyl.
Strassburger is also introducing a new Mastergrain fiberglass door. “This is a unique, high-end entrance system that has the most authentic wood grain replication in the industry and comes in oak, alder, cherry, fir and mahogany looks.”
Mori says the company works closely with PH Tech, an international company, watching trends around the globe and predicting trends and demands that will come to the North American market. “We offer a European-inspired tilt and turn window and door series. This European design provides greater security and can change from a swing open function to a tilt-in function to allow for optimal venting with the turn of a handle.”
Strassburger offers six natural stains with 50 standard colours and can custom colour-match. Mori says the company’s goal is to work with clients and to provide “the answer to all their needs in one pre-engineered design package.”
Reflecting its quality commitment, Mori says all Strassburger windows and doors have been tested to comply with the new NAFS (North American Fenestration Standard) which dictates more stringent requirements for energy performance, air infiltration, water resistance and design pressure.
Strassburger Windows and Doors started out of a pick-up truck in 1949. It continues to be a family-owned business, which Mori says has both ensured its stability through the years and supported its growth to be one of Ontario’s leading window and door manufacturers.
The company started producing windows in 1984, serving the Waterloo Region and beyond. Mori says the business has developed a reputation for integrity and honesty, with high quality energy-saving products.
