Tarion has announced the finalists for the second annual Ernest Assaly Award, which recognizes Ontario new home builders who offer quality home building, innovation and community service.

Of the more than 5,000 builders in Ontario, only 90 were eligible this year to submit nomination packages to Tarion.

“This award truly recognizes the cream of the crop of Ontario’s builders,” Tarion CEO Howard Bogach said in a statement. “Chosen by Tarion’s Board of Directors and based on strict criteria, it acknowledges a builder’s ongoing commitment to their workmanship, customers, employees, community and innovation.”

The four finalists selected by Tarion’s board of directors are:

– Armour Heights Developments Inc., Vaughan

– Swank Construction Ltd., Iroquois

– Terry Waito Homes Inc., Petawawa

– Tridel, Toronto

The recipient will be announced at the Homeowners’ Choice Awards luncheon in Woodbridge on May 1, 2018.

The Homeowners’ Choice Awards are determined each year by new home owners who take a survey and rate their builder’s performance and customer service.

Tarion is a private, not-for-profit corporation that administers the Ontario New Home Warranties Plan Act, and backstops the warranty coverage.
